About the product
Olvita Ślężański cold-pressed rapeseed oil is 100% oil from Polish double-zero (bezeruk) rapeseed – grown at the foot of Mount Ślęża (Lower Silesia Province). Cold-pressed, unrefined – it retains the natural nutritional properties of the seeds.
Its delicate flavour goes perfectly with a variety of dishes – ideal for salads, vinaigrette dressings, marinades and cold dishes. Its high thermal stability also makes it suitable for shallow frying and baking. Rapeseed oil has the best ratio of omega-3 to omega-6 fatty acids among popular edible oils – 9 g of alpha-linolenic acid (ALA)/100 g.
Natural clouding or thickening at low temperatures is a fully reversible phenomenon – resulting from the chemical composition of unrefined oils. Batches of the product may vary in colour, taste and smell – this is also a result of the natural, non-standardised production process.

What you should know about ALA
Alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), an omega-3 fatty acid, contributes to the maintenance of normal blood cholesterol levels – this is one of the few health benefits confirmed for vegetable oils by European food regulatory authorities.
To experience the beneficial effects, consume around 2 g of ALA per day – this is roughly the amount found in one tablespoon of linseed oil (or a larger amount of rapeseed oil).

Directions for use
Best used cold – 1 tablespoon (12 g) per portion of salad or raw vegetable mix. For a dressing: mix with balsamic vinegar and honey in a 3:1 ratio. For quick frying: brief heating up to 180°C preserves most of the nutritional value. Shake before use – natural sediment is a sign of minimal processing.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight. Once opened, use within a few weeks for best quality.
