Maca is a plant native to the Andes, one of the few that has managed to adapt to the harsh conditions at an altitude of more than 4,400 metres and is therefore considered an extremely hardy plant. For centuries, the matzo root has been prized by the Peruvian Indians and rightly called the 'miracle root'. The Incas used matzo to increase strength and endurance during battle.

Rules of use:

The recommended daily serving is 3-5 g (1 teaspoon). Mix the powder with fruit or vegetable juice, or it can be added to water. Maca has a rich, sweet flavour that pairs well with cocoa.
