Lemon balm (Melissa officinalis) is a natural herbal tea with calming properties that aids memory and digestion. It contains valuable essential oil thanks to its coarsely cut leaves of the highest quality. It soothes the nerves, promotes relaxation, facilitates sleep, improves mood and supports cognitive abilities.
Unmilled dried leaves retain all their health-promoting properties, unlike finely ground teas in bags.
The elixir of life and joy for the heart
Lemon balm has been valued since time immemorial for its calming and mood-lifting properties – in ancient Greece and Rome, it was called the elixir of life or joy for the heart. Recent studies have shown that the active compounds in lemon balm have a much broader effect on the central nervous system than just a sedative effect – they improve mood, strengthen memory and support cognitive abilities.
Lemon balm owes its effects to essential oils, which evaporate when the dried herb is finely ground – this is why shop-bought tea bags contain almost none of these oils and are ineffective. Our lemon balm is of excellent quality and retains all of its bioactive substances.
Ingredients you will love:
- Essential oil (geranial, citral, geraniol, linalool, citronellal) - has a sedative effect, helps reduce stress-induced nervous tension, relieves feelings of anxiety and irritation, and makes it easier to fall asleep.
- Flavonoids - have antioxidant properties, support the nervous system and improve mood.
- Phenolic acids - have antiseptic properties and support overall health.
- Triterpenes - support the proper functioning of the digestive system and have a relaxing effect on the digestive tract.
Intended use:
Ideal for anyone who needs relaxation, calmness and mood improvement. Also recommended for people with digestive problems. It works great both in the evening before bedtime and during the day to ensure relaxation and better concentration. Known for centuries in traditional medicine as a remedy for insomnia, migraines, pains of various origins and digestive problems.
Ingredients:
Lemon balm (Melissa officinalis) – 100% leaf.
Suggested use:
Lemon balm tea: pour a glass of boiling water over a tablespoon of lemon balm. Before brewing, you can sprinkle a small amount of alcohol on the dried herb to facilitate the extraction of active compounds. Cover the vessel (this prevents the valuable essential oil from evaporating!) and leave to stand for 10-20 minutes. After this time, filter and drink when you need to relax.
You can also prepare a tincture in a 1:5 ratio with 40-60 per cent hot alcohol, macerating for a minimum of 7 days, and then taking 5-10 millilitres 1-3 times a day.
Alternatively, prepare lemon balm wine: pour a bottle of dry wine over 50 grams of dry herb, macerate for 7 days, filter and consume 1 small glass (25 millilitres) 1-2 times a day.
Storage:
Store out of the reach of children, protect from light, moisture and foreign odours.
