Nanga Lemon Balm is a coarsely cut, non-ground dried herb from lemon balm (Melissa officinalis) - an aromatic perennial of the mint family, native to the Mediterranean region. In ancient Greece and Rome it was known as the "elixir of life" and the "joy of the heart" - charming traditional names that have accompanied this plant for centuries.

Lemon balm owes its characteristic, delicate lemon aroma to the essential oils naturally present in its leaves. The coarsely cut, non-ground leaf form helps preserve those essential oils better than a fine grind - the resulting infusion has a mild, lemon-herbal flavour and a pale golden colour.
