About the product
Ziółko Ground Hot Paprika is the dried and ground fruit of the paprika plant (Capsicum annuum) with a hot, spicy flavour. It comes from Spain – a traditional region for paprika cultivation. The heat comes from capsaicin and increases with the amount of seeds left in during grinding.
A spicy aroma with a slightly smoky note and an intensely red-orange powder. A staple spice in Hungarian cuisine (goulash, paprikash), Spanish cuisine (chorizo, paella, patatas bravas) and Mexican cuisine (chilli con carne, fajitas, salsa). It also works well in Polish lecsó and Szczecin paprikash.

Uses
A spice for spicy dishes: Hungarian goulash and paprikash, Spanish chorizo and patatas bravas, Mexican chilli con carne and fajitas, Polish leczo and paprykarz. It also works well in marinades for barbecued meats, spicy sauces (salsa, chimichurri), soups (goulash, bean soup) and homemade sausages.
How to use
Add whilst frying/stewing – the aroma develops on contact with fat (olive oil, lard). Typical portion: 1/2 – 1 teaspoon per 4 servings of the dish, or a larger amount for goulash. Caution: chilli powder burns easily – do not add to a hot pan without fat, as it will become bitter. It goes well with sweet paprika, garlic, cumin, oregano and black pepper.
Storage
Store in an airtight container in a cool, dark place, away from light, moisture and strong odours.
