Baikal thyroid, known as baicalensis, grows to a height of several tens of centimeters and produces small flowers of blue-purple color. It owes its fame not to its aesthetic qualities, but to its exceptionally numerous properties. Baikal thyroid grows in dry, sunny soils of East Asia. According to Far Eastern herbal traditions, the dried, crushed root of the plant is valued for its special effectiveness.
