Wellbear Vitamin D3 4000 IU is a dietary supplement in softgel capsules. Each capsule provides 100 µg (4000 IU) of cholecalciferol sourced from lanolin, dissolved in olive oil - vitamin D is fat-soluble, so an oil-based form supports its absorption.

Vitamin D contributes to normal absorption and utilisation of calcium and phosphorus, contributes to the maintenance of normal bones and teeth, and contributes to the maintenance of normal muscle function. It also contributes to the normal function of the immune system and has a role in the process of cell division.

Ingredients

Olive oil, bovine gelatin, humectant: glycerol, water, cholecalciferol (vitamin D3 from lanolin).

This product is not vegan or vegetarian - the capsule shell is made from bovine gelatin, and the vitamin D3 is derived from lanolin (wool wax from sheep).

Intended for

For adults with a confirmed vitamin D deficiency and for people aged 75 and over, whose requirements are higher. Also suitable for those with limited sun exposure - people who work indoors, rarely go outside, or keep their skin covered. At northern latitudes, skin produces virtually no vitamin D from October to March.

Suggested use

Take 1 softgel daily with a meal, ideally one containing some fat. Do not exceed the recommended daily serving.

Precautions

Not recommended for anyone with hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients. Before starting supplementation at this dose, have your blood 25-(OH)D level tested and discuss the result with your doctor - 4000 IU is the upper daily limit for adults, and vitamin D can accumulate in the body. Do not combine with other vitamin D-containing products without medical advice. Avoid if you have elevated blood or urine calcium levels, kidney stones, or kidney disease. Consult a doctor or pharmacist during pregnancy, breastfeeding, or if taking medication regularly.

Storage

Store in a dry place, at 0-25°C, away from high temperatures and out of reach of young children. Do not use if the seal under the cap is damaged or missing. The expiry date and batch number are printed on the label.
