Wellbear Schisandra is a dietary supplement in vegan capsules with a standardized extract from schisandra berries (Schisandra chinensis). One capsule contains 500 mg of extract, of which 50 mg is lignans - a group of compounds regarded as a quality marker for this raw material.

The 10% lignan standardization is a number you can compare. Many schisandra products only state the extract weight or use plain berry powder, without any information on lignan content - making it impossible to judge exactly what you are buying.

Schisandra is a vine from the magnolia-vine family, growing in the mountain forests of China and East Asia. Its red berries are known in China as wu wei zi, the five-flavor fruit - a single berry carries sweetness, sourness, bitterness, pungency and saltiness all at once. It has been compared to a mix of pineapple, kiwi and lemon with a bitter finish, though none of that flavor comes through in a capsule.

Storage

Store in a dry place, at 0-25 degrees Celsius, away from high temperatures and out of reach of young children. Do not use if the seal under the cap is damaged or missing. The expiry date and batch number are printed on the label.
