Wellbear Golden Cold-Pressed Linseed Oil is 100% golden linseed oil (Linum usitatissimum, a variety with lighter-coloured seeds) – unrefined, cold-pressed in a Polish oil mill. Golden linseed oil is also known as Budwig oil – a classic culinary ingredient in Dr Budwig’s diet (cottage cheese with oil).

It differs from brown linseed oil in its lighter, golden colour and milder, more refined flavour – making it easier to incorporate into the daily diet for those who do not like the bitter taste of typical brown linseed oil.

Intended use

Oil for dishes served cold: cottage cheese with oil (Dr Budwig’s classic recipe), salads, raw vegetable salads, cottage cheese spreads, dressings, sandwiches, groats, fish, cold sauces, dairy products. Its milder flavour makes it suitable for everyday use. Not suitable for frying or baking – heating degrades polyunsaturated fatty acids. Vegan.

Directions for use

Dr Budwig’s classic recipe: mix 2–3 tablespoons of quark with 1–2 tablespoons of oil (12–24 g) for breakfast.

Other uses: 1 tablespoon (12 g) in a salad, with groats or on bread. Directly from a teaspoon – 1–3 teaspoons a day. The mild flavour makes it easy to consume on its own.

Storage

Once opened, store in the fridge and use within a month – 1000 ml of linseed oil oxidises quickly after opening when exposed to light, heat and air. Keep the bottle tightly closed.
