Wellbear Camelina Oil is a 100% cold-pressed oil from camelina seeds (Camelina sativa), unrefined and unfiltered, made in a Polish oil mill. Its golden-amber colour and distinctive peppery, onion-like flavour set it apart from any other cooking oil. Meant for cold dishes only, the handy bottle is a great way to first discover this bold taste.
About the product
Wellbear Camelina Oil is a 100% cold-pressed oil from camelina seeds (Camelina sativa), produced in a Polish oil mill. Camelina, also known as false flax or gold-of-pleasure, is a traditional crop with a long history in Poland and Central Europe - forgotten for decades and now back in favour, camelina oil is considered one of the oldest edible oils in the region.
Flavour comes first here: peppery, with a distinct note of onion and earth, quite different from flaxseed or rapeseed oil. It can take some getting used to, but those who take a liking to it usually stay loyal. The oil is unrefined and unfiltered, which explains its golden-amber colour and the natural sediment at the bottom of the bottle - simply shake before use.
- 100% cold-pressed camelina seed oil - single ingredient, pressed in Poland
- Cold-pressed - no heat treatment during production
- Unrefined and unfiltered - hence the colour, flavour and natural sediment
- No preservatives, colourants or additives

Intended use
An oil for dishes served cold. Traditionally spread on bread instead of butter, with salt and pepper. Also good in salads, cabbage and carrot slaws, fermented vegetables, curd cheese spreads, potatoes and cooked grains drizzled on once cooled, and cold soups. Add to cooked dishes only after they have cooled down. Not suitable for frying or baking - high temperature degrades the polyunsaturated fatty acids. Vegan. Not for people allergic to camelina.
Directions for use
1 tablespoon (12 g) a day - added to a dish just before serving, or taken straight from the spoon. Because the aroma is intense, start with a smaller amount; even a little clearly changes the taste of a dish. The oil is also sometimes used externally, for skin and hair care.
Storage
Store in the refrigerator (4-10 degrees Celsius), in a dark, tightly closed bottle. Once opened, use within a month - unrefined oil oxidises under the influence of light, heat and air. The date on the label doubles as the batch number.
Ingredients
Cold-pressed camelina seed oil (Camelina sativa) 100%.
