Sanct Bernhard's Green-lipped Mussel Concentrate contains glycosaminoglycans (GAGs), which occur naturally in humans in connective tissue, joint cartilage and synovial fluid (‘synovium’).

Origin and properties of the green-lipped mussel:

New Zealand has its own green mussel (Perna canaliculus), which is recognised as a source of precious substances due to its content. Under suitable technological conditions, unique amino sugars called glucosaminoglycans are extracted from it. Mussel extract contains many valuable substances, such as phospholipids, sterols, vitamins A, C, E, D1, D3, B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B12 and calcium, iron, sodium, potassium, phosphorus, selenium, among others.

The mussel has the highly valuable Lyprinol - an active ingredient found only in the green-lipped mussel, which contains 12 different fatty acids belonging to Omega 3.
