About the product

Newborn babies have very small mouths, and every gram on the face makes a difference. Ultra Start is the smallest and lightest pacifier in the Philips Avent range, made to fit a baby's mouth from the very first day without weighing down the cheeks.

The tip is soft and symmetrical, so it settles correctly without needing to be turned, and its narrow base reduces pressure on the gums and palate. The silicone withstands sterilising at up to 110°C, contains no BPA, BPS, PVC or phthalates, and is made in the Netherlands.

Intended use

A pacifier for newborns from day one up to 2 months old. It suits babies whose mouths are still too small for a standard-size pacifier and who need comfort between feeds.

How to use

Sterilise the pacifier before first use. Offer it to the baby and let them latch on their own. Before every use, stretch the pacifier in all directions and check that the silicone is not torn. For hygiene, replace the pacifier after 4 weeks of use and store it in a clean, dry case.

Cleaning and care

The case doubles as a microwave steriliser. Wash the pacifiers and case, pour 25 ml of water into the base, close the lid and microwave for 3 minutes at 750-1000 W. Wait 5 minutes before opening, then pour out the water and dry the case.

Safety precautions

Use only under adult supervision. Check the pacifier for cracks or tears before every use. Replace at the first signs of wear. Do not attach the pacifier to a cord or ribbon around the baby's neck, wrist or clothing.
