Olvita Cold-pressed Hemp Oil is 100% hemp seed oil (Cannabis sativa L.) – cold-pressed and unrefined at the Olvita oil mill in Poland (Mysłaków, Lower Silesia Province). Hemp is a food plant and is non-psychoactive.

The manufacturer states specific fatty acid values in the product information: 17.7 g of omega-3 fatty acids (ALA) per 100 g, 3.3 g of gamma-linolenic acid (GLA) and 1.1 g of steridonic acid (SDA). According to an authorised statement by the European Commission (Regulation 432/2012), alpha-linolenic acid contributes to the maintenance of normal blood cholesterol levels – beneficial effects are observed with a daily intake of approximately 2 g of ALA.

Usage

Oil for cold dishes: bread, raw vegetable dishes, salads, dips, sandwich spreads. The distinctive nutty flavour complements raw vegetables. For cooked dishes – add only once cooled. Not suitable for frying or baking – high temperatures degrade polyunsaturated fatty acids. Vegan.

Directions for use

Recommended serving size: 3 teaspoons (12 g) per day for direct consumption or as an addition to cold dishes. Pour over salads, quark or smoothies just before serving. Due to its distinctive flavour profile, start with a smaller portion.

Storage

Store in a dark, cool place. Once opened, in the fridge. The oil may become cloudy or solidify at low temperatures – this is a natural phenomenon and is fully reversible.
