How to prepare Matcha?
Amount of tea: one teaspoon per 200ml
Water temperature: 80°C
Brewing method:
Pour a teaspoon of matcha tea with a small amount of warm water in a teapot and stir vigorously with a bamboo stirrer until all the matcha has dissolved and a characteristic thick foam has formed on the surface. Then slowly add water so that you have a portion of about 200 ml. A traditional bamboo chasen or stirring stick is best for stirring. Alternatively, you can prepare the matcha with a manual milk frother and replace the traditional bowl with a glass or mug. The water temperature should be around 80°C. This can be achieved using a kettle with a temperature gauge, or by setting a normal kettle of boiling water aside for 10 minutes. Matcha should not be poured over boiling water as it loses some of its nutritional properties.
Store in the fridge after opening.
