What Epsom salt is used for

It gets its name from the name of the town in England near where it was discovered. Epsom salt is otherwise known as magnesium sulphate (or bitter or English salt), which is best used in a bath to dissolve in warm water. After a half-hour bath you will feel relieved, cleansed, your skin will be relaxed and disinfected (magnesium sulphate has antibacterial and antifungal effects). The body will get rid of toxins, and a solid dose of magnesium will enter the body through the dilated pores, replenishing its levels in our body.

Natural origin

The package contains the purest magnesium sulphate of natural origin, mined in the German state of Saxony in the form of kieserite, a mineral formed in prehistoric times. Kieserite is extracted together with potassium-containing minerals and, when separated by natural methods, has many uses. The magnesium contained in kieserite and other regenerating trace elements have a relaxing effect on the human body, and magnesium itself is absorbed through the skin, replenishing deficiencies. Sulphur, in turn, is responsible for its antiseptic, antibacterial and antifungal effects.

When to use the baths?

Pour half a kilo of Epsom salt (half the packet) into a bath of very warm water - about 38 degrees - and wait for it to dissolve completely. To make the bath effective, soak in it for a minimum of 20 minutes, without adding any washing liquid. After the bath, rinse your body with running water.

Prepare a magnesium bath for your feet too. After a busy day, when you have sore feet, pour about 100 - 200 g of salt into a bowl of warm water and give them time to regenerate. You can also use a foot massager for this, which will stimulate the receptors and help the magnesium flakes to work.
