GROWUS Damage Therapy Hair Oil is a Korean leave-in oil for damaged ends, built on hydrolyzed keratin, collagen and a blend of eight plant oils. It smooths rough strands, adds elasticity and tames flyaways on dry, over-processed hair. The formula also carries a UV filter, a genuine plus for color-treated hair that fades in the sun.

About the product

GROWUS Damage Therapy Hair Oil is the richer, oil-based half of the Damage Therapy line. Apply it to the ends only, on wet or dry hair, and leave it in - no rinsing. The base is cyclopentasiloxane, so the oil glides on instantly without a greasy film, while the plant oils add the actual nourishment.

One line in the ingredient list deserves attention even though the manufacturer never markets it: ethylhexyl salicylate, a UV filter. That matters for color-treated and lightened hair, which fades quickly in summer sun. The formula also carries an unusually broad protein set - keratin, collagen in five forms, and hydrolyzed potato, oat, barley, rice, corn, pea and soy proteins - plus eight oils: Japanese camellia, rosehip, baobab, apricot, argan, sunflower, jojoba and moringa.

Intended use

For dry, damaged hair, especially color-treated and lightened hair that needs extra smoothness at the ends. The Damage Therapy line also includes a mist, and the two aren't interchangeable: the mist is sprayed through the full length before drying to ease detangling, while the oil goes on the ends only, after drying. Used together they form a full routine, but if you have to pick one, the mist suits fine hair better and the oil suits thick, coarse hair.

How to use

1. Apply a small amount to your palms and rub them together.
2. Distribute through wet or dry hair, focusing on the ends.
3. Leave in, do not rinse.

Precautions

The formula contains milk proteins and a rosin-based collagen (Rosin Hydrolyzed Collagen), a known contact allergen - if you're prone to reactions, patch-test a small area of skin first. The product is not vegan. The fragrance declares five allergens: citronellol, geraniol, linalool, eugenol and limonene.
