Description
Cold-pressed sunflower oil is a product that owes its exceptionally bright colour and beautiful aroma to carefully selected sunflower seeds. The product is unfiltered and unpurified, thanks to which it provides far more health-promoting nutrients than its everyday kitchen counterparts. At the same time, the oil does not contain any chemical additives, colours or preservatives.
Cold-pressed sunflower oil - what does it contain?
Cold-pressed sunflower oil primarily contains very high amounts of vitamin E, which is valuable for health and beauty. In addition, it also provides phytosterols and polyunsaturated fatty acids, especially omega 6 acids. It is therefore important to consume sunflower oil together with products rich in omega 3 fatty acids to ensure that they are in the right proportion in the diet. The product also contains mineral salts such as zinc, iron, phosphorus and potassium.
Cold-pressed sunflower oil - how does it work?
Regularly consumed sunflower oil improves immunity, increases vitality and lowers bad cholesterol, counteracting cardiovascular disease. The product also has a positive effect on fertility in men, as it extends sperm viability.
But it is most popular in cosmetology. This is because cold-pressed sunflower oil is a real treasure trove of antioxidant vitamin E. Thanks to it, it significantly improves the condition of the skin, strengthens it and nourishes it. It also protects cells from UV radiation and the damaging effects of free radicals. The product promotes the healing process of skin inflammation, erythema, edema and sunburn. It also evens out skin discolouration. It is recommended for oily and combination skin as it normalises the sebaceous glands and prevents the formation of pimples and blackheads.
How to use cold-pressed sunflower oil?
Although sunflower seed oil is sometimes referred to as an all-purpose product, it is not recommended to use it for frying. Due to its low smoke point and cold-pressing process, the product should be consumed without prior heat treatment. Sunflower oil is therefore suitable for use as a base for salad dressing, as a salad topping or as a base for homemade pesto or mayonnaise.
In conditioning, cold-pressed sunflower oil will prove useful as a base oil for body massage, for example in combination with an essential oil of your choice. The product can be used directly on the skin of the face, as well as for oiling hair - especially highly porous hair.
