Description
Palo Santo, or Sacred Tree (Bursera graveolens) in the form of natural incense has for centuries been used in ritual ceremonies to cleanse a room of negative energy and bad emotions. Palo Santo incense contains aromatic resin with a high content of natural essential oils, so it does not require artificial fragrance enhancers. The beautiful, very original, sweet and resinous aroma of the wood promotes tranquillity and concentration.
Natural Palo Santo (Sacred Tree) incense is a creamy yellow piece of dried wood extracted from the naturally fallen, dead Bursera graveolens tree, which grows in the dry tropical forests of North America and Central America. The incense is characterised by a spicy and woody and mildly citrusy aroma, with slightly powdery notes.
The origins of the use of Palo Santo for incense date back to the traditions of the ancient Inca civilisations, where it was used in spiritual ceremonies. Beliefs indicate that the smoke brings good luck, wards off evil thoughts, misfortune and also evil spirits.
The soothing and relaxing aroma of this unusual wood still restores peace and balances emotions today.
