Description
Camphor essential oil is extracted from a tree called camphor cinnamon tree (Cinnamomum camphora). To ensure the highest quality of the extract, the plants are carefully selected - they must be healthy and mature, 50 years is considered the minimum. The species itself is long-lived, with trees living up to 1,000 years. Camphor is native to Asia, but is used around the world as an ingredient in incense, a medicine and an aromatherapeutic agent.
Camphor oil - properties
Camphor essential oil is often an ingredient in pharmaceuticals used for skin diseases, especially those of bacterial and fungal origin. The product relieves itching and irritation. The extract exhibits anti-inflammatory activity, and when applied topically it cools nerve endings to then warm up intensively, increasing blood circulation. It is indispensable for muscle and joint problems (eliminates pain and stiffness, increases range of motion).
Used in the form of inhalation, it relieves congestion of the respiratory tract, which often occurs during infections. It levels coughs and dilutes secretions. It is easily absorbed through the skin and promotes the formation of collagen and elastin, which are responsible for a youthful appearance. It has an equally beneficial effect on oily and problematic skin - it cleanses, prevents the accumulation of bacteria and levels sebum secretion.
It is famous for its intense aroma, which is difficult to specify. The scent can be compared to menthol or eucalyptus with cool, woody notes. It will work well for people suffering from nervous ailments, relieving stress, anxiety and feelings of restlessness. It combats fatigue and, studies show, can improve cognitive function, memory ability and concentration.
