The Common Broom, Latin Tanacetum vulgare L. is a plant commonly found on our domestic meadows, clearings or roadsides. It belongs to the Asteraceae family. It can be recognised by its striking yellow flowers consisting of flattened baskets. Its medicinal properties have been recognised for years and the plant is used in natural medicine to treat diseases of the digestive system and rheumatism, for example. It should be noted, however, that due to the high content of the poison thujone in this plant, it should be handled with extreme care and the reaction of the body should be carefully monitored.
